 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support technical initiatives embarked by the Ministry of Finance, which includes analyzing systems, gathering requirements, and sourcing efficient long-term e-solutions for the Government of Belize.
  • Provide practical, useful, extensible, and secure e-solutions to the Ministry of Finance.
  • Partner with various government entities to transform current manual systems into electronic systems for both public officers as well the general public.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on software solutions.
  • Create high-quality software architecture and design.
  • Produce clean code and identifying areas of improvement based on user feedback.
  • Identify, prioritize, and carry out tasks across the software development life cycle.
  • Document phases of software development.
  • Ensure that software is using recent technologies to avoid vulnerabilities of non-supporting packages.
  • Monitor, maintain, and update Ministry of Finance’s websites.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  • Software development user support.

 Current Project(s)

  • Develop, modify, and maintain Ministry of Finance’s websites.
  • Provide technical support for the Strengthening Public Expenditure Management (SPEM) Project. This project consists in the creation of a Financial Management Information System for the Government of Belize. The tasks include engaging with service owners to gather their requirements, finding optimal architecture and software solutions, and implementing international best practices in digitizing processes. The data generated by these various subsystems will be aggregated into a Datawarehouse to facilitate the ease of analysis of GOB’s financial data.
  • Support the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) in the Clinical Data Exchange Platform (CDEP) project.
  • Support the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) in the process of upgrading and improving the Public Sector Investment Program Management Information System (PSIP/MIS).
